Christmas, Google Image Search Style

Merry Christmas dear readers! The most wonderful time of the year is upon us, thank fucking god.

And so, I’ve compiled a very erroneous list of what happens when I try and google nice, heartwarming things for you to look at. Thanks, Google:

Apologies for the Late Skeet

The Lord decreed Sunday as the day of rest. I am now decreeing it the day of Skeet. Well, for this week at least. Sorry for missing Friday, we were, uh… busy. Get over it!!

Dev Patel!

Okay, admittedly this is sort of a weird skeet for me, mostly because this guy kind of reminds me of my brother when he was 18, and sometimes Dev has been seen sporting the infamous “crustache.” I’m willing to overlook that because he was Anwar, a member of the genius ensemble cast of our favorite guilty pleasure teen drama import “Skins,” and because he’s the lead in what I’m told is a really fantastic film, Danny Boyle’s latest and greatest, “Slumdog Millionaire.”

December In Detroit

56388121
People wait in a several block line to receive gifts of food, personal care, household items and toys at the A Miracle in Motown event, part of the nationwide program to help working poor and disadvantaged families December 18, 2008 in Detroit, Michigan. About 5,000 families are expected to receive enough food at the event to supplement meals for a family of four for a week. A Miracle in Motown is sponsored by The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) along with Feed The Children, Great Redeemer Christian Church and The Bing Group. An estimated one in three Detroiters lives in poverty, making the city the poorest large city in America. (Photo by Spencer Platt/Getty Images)

This breaks my heart, but it’s also amazing that people have donated 60,000 meals worth of food.  I am absolutely convinced that empathy is the most important quality people can have if we’re going to weather this economy, so journalism like this is vital.  Screw Newsweek and their “luxury shame” or the Times and their articles about *gasp* shopping at K-Mart, just like the poors!  We’re all in this together, and the more we can remind ourselves of that, the sooner we’ll be back on our feet and buying Xboxes for Christmas without having to skip a rent payment.

A Very Googly Gift

I Love Remixes. Because ILR, I’ve scoured the internet for the best of the bootlegged best. I know remixes/mash ups may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but that’s the coolest part about them: you can do it for any genre. So no excuses for hatin’, people! In no way do these loopy covers best their originals, but some have the great ability to give your fave song a different point of view. (more…)

How to: Use a Public Restroom

You would think that using a public restroom is no different from using the bathroom in your home, but unless some people like to piss on the seat of their home toilet, fill it with toilet paper and not flush, and leave bloodied feminine products on the floor, you’d be wrong. Somehow the fact that you’re sharing a place to relieve your bodily functions brings out the worst in people, and there may be a completely different set of rules and guidelines for men, but let’s get to the “How To.”

Britney Spears’ “Circus”

I’m really sorry everyone, I don’t know how to explain my recent Britney obsession. Ever since “Piece of Me” came out and was played in a scenario where  I could dance my ass off, I’ve been hooked. Okay, there, I said it. I like Britney’s dance music. So sue me.

Her latest single, “Circus” is a freakin’ great pop/dance song, and to be honest, I cannot wait til I am in some club in Dublin and it comes on, because I will be drunk, freak out, and dance like an insane person. Anyway, here’s the video. Embedding is disabled because it’s the official video and I guess BritneyTV are a bunch of wanks who don’t realize the value of allowing people to spread and promote their video for free. But anyway….

The Soundtrack to My Life

Saturday night, after a crave-quenching dinner at shake shack with Betty, I headed to the 2008 Blip Festival. With no real clue what I was in for, just knowing it was some dudes making music on their gameboys, I seem to have stumbled upon my favorite music genre of all time:
