Doug Funny & Arnold
March 20, 2009
Sometimes the perfect guys aren’t exactly within our grasp.
Sometimes, they don’t even exist in real life.

Arnold, of “Hey Arnold!” and Doug Funny of “Doug” are two dudes that, had they existed in real life, I would have harbored secret and festering crushes for. Their moral compasses weren’t on “after-school special” mode. They were jut normal teens. Normal, adorable, highly animated teens.
The humanity and understanding displayed in every plot-challenge was impressive, and their ability to always do the right thing without seeming like goody-two-shoes made my heart pitter patter throughout elementary school. If these dudes were real, you can bet your bonnet I would have stalked them. But until then, I’ll have to settle for their re-runs.
Plus, Doug’s friend (the blue guy) is actually named Skeeter. If that isn’t the epitome of skeet-worthy I don’t know what is. Unfortunately, most of the original episodes have been removed from Youtube since Disney bought out the show. But just trust me when I say: they are both nice guys. And since when do they make cartoons about nice dudes anymore?
Doug and Arnold: you may be animated, you may not have a tangible soul, but I’ll be damned if that doesn’t make you skeetworthy. God knows we’ve skeeted for less! May you both forever live in our skeetiest memories. RIP.
