This actualy makes sense. I men personaly I’m not agains the abortion but if it can be avoided (as in: the woman won’t get pregnant for no reason) then I’m all for it. Though it’d be extremely expensive for the country and all that would support is basicaly “paying stupid girls to take a little better care of their bodies”.

I guess it’s a good effort but I think it would be more cost-effective (and effective in general) if that money was just used to get these girls on NuvaRing or the Depo shot or even an IUD (vs the pill which is subject to more user error.) Unwanted pregnancies would probably be reduced a lot if there was more education and availability of birth control options for at-risk youth. Right?

Gry: you know what else was a good idea? giving me $5 for every A I got in elementary school. By the time college came around, I didn’t get paid. I WANTED to do well by this point, and wasn’t a mindless, eight-year-old cretin. The problem with the dollar-a-day program is that when you treat grown-ups like infants, they’ll just keep acting like infants.
A-town: as for IUDS, those things freak the shit out of me. But yeah, birth control is actually MORE EFFECTIVE in controlling BIRTHS! Who knew?!?
